Dr. Frainey is a Clinical Psychologist and is licensed in both Illinois and Iowa. His career spans over thirty years and includes experience working in community mental health, the private sector and higher education. He has worked professionally in a private psychiatric hospital, Chicago inner city community mental health center, hospital emergency room crisis response center, state psychiatric institute, minimum security correctional facility, nursing homes, adolescent residential treatment center, private practice, and university teaching capacity at both the graduate and undergraduate level.Dr. Frainey’s approach is largely existential within a problem centered framework that incorporates cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, family systems, and social constructionist perspectives.

Dr. Frainey enjoys working with adults, couples, family, and adolescent clients.  He completed his BA at Furman University in Greenville, SC which he attended on a basketball scholarship. He earned his doctoral degree from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. Dr. Frainey lives in Moline with his wife Anne, daughter Isla, and long-haired Chihuahua, Rex.
