Mikaela Schultz, LISW, LCSW
Mikaela is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Iowa and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois. She specializes in working with teens and adults, and primarily sees individual clients age 13 and up but occasionally will work with families. She works with people struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQA issues, and addiction. Her work is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) but she also has training in trauma care and motivational interviewing.
About Mikaela
Mikaela attended the University of Iowa for undergraduate school and Washington University in St. Louis to earn her Master of Social Work degree. Outside of the office, she spends a lot of time outdoors with her family and can usually be found camping, canoeing, hiking, or fishing. She particularly loves spending time in the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota and tries to take a yearly trip to the north woods. Mikaela also loves to fruit and vegetable garden and enjoys the growing and preserving process.
Fun Facts
If Mikaela could travel anywhere in time, she would go back to the American frontier because her outdoors skills would be helpful in creating a homestead and surviving off the land. One boring fact about Mikaela is that she likes to sit in a rocking chair sipping tea and watching the wildlife in her backyard.
